
The All-Conference honors for Men's Golf were announced today by the Northwest Conference and three Willamette student-athletes were named all-conference. Oliver Smith and Brock Olson both received first-team honors and Smith was named the NWC Player of the Year. Alexander Papajohn was named to the All-NWC Second Team. In addition, Director of Golf Patrick Daugerty was named the NWC Coach of the Year.
The all-conference team is determined by the combined scores across three conference events held during the year, the Fall Classic, Spring Classic, and NWC Championship.
Smith was the medalist at the Fall Classic with a two-day total of 135 to finish at 9-under par. Olson tied for fourth at the same event with a score of 140, and Papajohn tied for eighth at 143.
Olson won the Spring Classic at 4-under par, with Smith just two strokes behind at 2-under. Papajohn finished at 147 to take sixteenth place at the Spring Classic.
This past weekend at the NWC Championship, it was Papajohn's turn to lead the trio. He carded a two-day total of 146 to finish in fifth place. Smith was two strokes back in a tie for seventh place while Olson was two strokes behind Smith and in a tie for twelfth place.
