SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior midfielder Trevor Jensen (Chula Vista, CA/Bonita Vista HS)has been selected as the Northwest Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts in the Bearcats' 3-2 double-overtime victory over archrival Linfield College on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Jensen scored his first two goals of the game in less than a minute, hitting the net at 31:48 on a long shot and at 32:39 on a penalty kick.

Following an opening Linfield goal, Jensen scored from distance to knot the game at 1-1. Then, just 51 seconds later, Jensen put Willamette in front with the first of two penalty kicks.

The Bearcats continued to hold a one-goal advantage until the Wildcats tied the game at 41:36.Neither team scored again until the winning shot by Jensen at 109:37.

After beating his marker into the penalty box, Jensen was tripped up by a Linfield player as he made his move toward goal. With just 21 seconds left in the game, he then calmly slotted home from the penalty spot.

Jensen finished the 2013 season leading Willamette in every major offensive category: goals (10), assists (7), points (27), shots (58), shots on goal (32), and game-winning goals (3).

For his career, Jensen achieved 17 goals, 18 assists, 52 points, 138 shots, 62 shots on goal, and five game-winning goals. His 18 career assists is a new record for Bearcat men's soccer, surpassing the previous record of 16 assists shared by Jeff Johnson (1982-83) and Dirk Hmura (1988-91).

Jensen also shares Willamette's single-season record for assists with Kent Jensen (1983) and Casey Fries (1990), after he recorded eight assists in 2012.

Jensen has been an integral part of the recent turnaround of the Bearcat men's soccer program. Willamette's 2013 record of 10-6-3 (.605) is WU's best winning percentage since the 1991 team finished 13-6-2 (.667).

In addition, the Bearcats have recorded back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1993 (9-8-1) and 1994 (8-6-1). Last year, Willamette attained a 10-7-2 record.

Trevor Jensen recorded a hat trick, including the winning goal on a penalty kick with 21 seconds left in the second overtime.
