SALEM, Ore. -- Josh Schneider (Jr., F, Washougal, WA/Camas HS) from Willamette University has been selected Northwest Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts in a 2-1 overtime win against George Fox University on Thursday, April 8. Schneider scored the game-winning goal 2:04 into the overtime session.

Willamette finished the season with an undefeated record at 8-0 overall and 8-0 in the NWC.

The winning goal by Schneider was recorded on the first shot in overtime. Willamette won the ball near midfield and attacked down the left side. Schneider eventually beat the GFU goalkeeper to the ball about seven yards out and to the left of the goal. Schneider shot on the first touch past the goalie and into the lower right corner of the net. Schneider led all players in the game with six total shots and four shots on goal.

Schneider earned three goals and one assist during the season. He placed 11 of his 13 shots on target to rank first on the team in shots on goal.

"Josh has had a fantastic season," Willamette Head Men's Soccer Coach Jared Rust commented. "He has been used in multiple roles on the pitch and has been an incredible utility player for us. He gives us not only attacking at a high level, but defending as well, and covering a massive amount of ground while doing both. Two-way players like Josh do not come around very often, and we are excited to see his continued success and impact on the pitch."
