Willamette Men's Soccer Game at George Fox is Moved to Friday, Oct. 21

NEWBERG, Ore. -- The Willamette University men's soccer game at George Fox University has been moved from the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 22 to the evening of Friday, Oct. 21. The game will still be played at the Austin Sports Complex near the GFU campus, but the kickoff is now set for Friday at 7 p.m. (PDT).

Willamette enters the game with a 10-1-2 overall record, including an 8-1-0 record (1st place) in the Northwest Conference. The Bearcats are ranked #13 in the NCAA Division III Coach Poll released by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday, Oct. 18. George Fox is 2-8-3 on the season, 0-5-3 in the NWC.

The Bearcats have scored 33 goals this season, including an NWC-leading nine goals by Pierce Gallaway, six goals by Jett Starr (Jr., F, Portland, OR/Cleveland HS), and four goals from Sean Kim (Jr., F, Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead HS). Overall, 13 Willamette players have scored at least one goal, including 10 Bearcats with at least two goals.

Goalkeeper Pierluca Carnovale (Jr., GK, Seattle, WA/Ballard HS) has played 1,154 minutes for the Bearcats this season and owns a 1.17 goals against average and a 10-1-2 record. He has earned 37 saves and has provided three solo shutouts while also sharing one shutout.

Willamette's last regular season home game of 2022 is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. It will be Senior Day for the Bearcats, who will be taking on Pacific University.
