Los Angeles, CA - A hot start for the host Tigers proved too much for the visiting Bearcat as Occidental won 4-1 in a non-conference, West Region match-up. Occidental scored three goals in the opening sixteen minutes of play and held the Bearcats scoreless until Ryan O'Grady found the back of the next in the 82nd minute.
The Bearcats registered eight shots on the day, Sean Kim leading the way with three and Jayson Gordon adding two. Tiago Palhetas assisted O'Grady's goal and Ryan Doyle made 3 threes in goal for Willamette.
Willamette will have a week off before playing their next two games, both at home, against the University of California-Santa Cruz on Friday, September 13th at 8:00 pm, and Calvin University on Saturday, September 14th at 5:00 pm.
