
Tacoma, WA - Willamette Men's Soccer remains unbeaten in Northwest Conference play as they tied for the second day in a row, this time against the University of Puget Sound. The Bearcats controlled much of the action for the game and doubled up the Loggers on shots and shots on goal, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.
Willamette put pressure on Puget Sound until the very end of the game as two corner kicks from Tiago Palhetas in the final minute were sent away from the Loggers, the first cleared by a defender and the second falling into the waiting arms of the goalkeeper. For the match, Willamette outshot Puget Sound 8-4, including 6-1 in the second half. The Bearcats were led in shot attempts by Krisna LaFrance.with three on the day. Ryan Doyle made two saves in goal for the Bearcats, playing the full 90 minutes for the second match in a row.
Willamette returns to Sparks Field for their next match when they take on the Bruins of George Fox University on Sunday, September 29th at Noon.
