
Spokane, Wash. - Men's Swimming competed against Whitworth University in the Bearcats' first away dual meet of the season and fell to the host Pirates by a score of 162-41.
Kevin Olmedo won the 100-yard Freestyle for Willamette, finished second in the 50-yard Free, and anchored the 200-yard Medley Relay team that took third place.
The other members of the relay team - Nicholas Moore, Ka'olapa Masuko, and Cole Lindberg - all had strong swims for the Bearcats in other events. Masuko finished second in the 100-yard Breastroke and anchored the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, while Lindberg took fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, just ahead of teammate Augie Meier. Moore competed in the freestyle distance events, finishing 5th in the 1650 and 6th in the 500-yard race.
Ethan Davies led the way for Willamette in the distance events, finishing third overall in the 1650-yard Freestyle and fourth in the 500-yard Free.
Other top Bearcat finishers on the day were Paul Keith in the 200 and 500-yard Free, and Lucas Cardenas in the 400-yard IM and 100-yard Butterfly.
Willamette stays in Washington for their next meet when they travel to swim against Whitman College on Saturday, November 16th. The first event is scheduled for 10:00 am.
