Moore and Davies Race to Multiple Top-3 Finishes Against Lewis & Clark

Salem, Ore. - Willamette Men's Swimming won the 400-yard Medley Relay and Ka'olapa Masuko won the 200-yard Breastroke but the Bearcats lost their dual meet with Lewis & Clark 125-65.

The team of Nicholas Moore, Masuko, Cole Lindberg, and Kevin Olmedo took the opening event in a time of 3:42.64, besting the Pioneers by over seven seconds.  Moore followed up that relay win with a second-place finish in the 1000-yard Freestyle.  He also earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard Backstroke.

Ethan Davies was right behind Moore in the 1000 Free, finishing third with a time of 11:05.63.  Davies also took third place in the 500-yard Freestyle and raced to a second-place finish in the 200-yard Individual Medley.

Masuko took the only individual win for the Bearcats when he touched the wall at 2:17.45 for the 200-yard Breaststroke.  A part of the winning relay team, he also finished fifth in the 100-yard Freestyle.  

Other second-place finishers for Willamette were Cole Lindberg in the 50-yard Freestyle and Lucas Cardenas in the 200-yard Butterfly.  Cardenas also swam to a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard Freestyle.

The Bearcats will return to the pool on Saturday, January 25th, at 11:00 a.m., for their final home meet of the season, when they face the University of Puget Sound.
