Lee Repeats as ITA Scholar-Athlete for Third Year in a Row

SALEM, ORE. -- Gunnar Lee (Hilo, HI/St. Joseph School), who recently completed his junior season on the Willamette University men 's tennis team, has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete for 2014-15. It is the third year in a row that Lee has earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status.

Lee is majoring in Chemistry (Biochemistry track) at Willamette. Each ITA Scholar-Athlete was required to have at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the academic year.

This spring, Lee competed in all 18 of Willamette's dual matches for Head Coach Rick Wood, with 10 matches at #1 singles and 17 matches at #1 doubles. He played three matches at #2 singles, five matches at #3 singles, and one match at #2 doubles. During his three years with the Bearcats, he has played in 48 matches.

Gunnar Lee received ITA Scholar-Athlete status for the second year in a row.
