SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University's Jack Schreiber (Jr., Solana Beach, CA/The Grauer School) has been named Second Team All-Northwest Conference for the 2014-15 season in voting by the NWC head coaches. It is the second consecutive season that Schreiber has been chosen for Second Team All-NWC recognition.

A total of 16 players were named All-NWC this season, with eight on the First Team and eight chosen for the Second Team.

Colton Malesovas, a senior at Whitman College, was named NWC Men's Tennis Player of the Year for the third season in a row. Whitman Head Coach Jeff Northam was chosen NWC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.

Second Team All-Northwest Conference

Schreiber finished the season with a 7-10 overall record in singles, including 5-6 in the NWC. He played with great energy on the court and had some of the top matches of his career in Northwest Conference dual matches late in the season.

He played mostly at #2 singles this year, and competed in two matches at #1 singles. Last year, he played primarily #3 singles. As a sophomore, he saw most of his action at #5 singles.

Schreiber earned a 21-24 overall record and a 19-16 NWC record in singles during the past three spring seasons.

"Jack is proof that if you set a goal, work hard, and never give up, others will notice," Willamette Head Coach Rick Wood said. "I could only nominate him ... the other eight coaches in our conference agreed with me and voted for Jack.

"It wasn't just his tennis skills," Wood added. "It was his sportsmanship, his heart and passion for competition."
