George Fox, Ranked #11 in NCAA Division III, Turns Back Willamette

NEWBERG, Ore. -- The Willamette University men's tennis team dropped a Northwest Conference match at nationally ranked George Fox on Sunday, March 13. The Bruins, ranked #11 in NCAA Division III by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), remained unbeaten in conference play, improving to 6-1 overall and to 4-0 in the NWC. The Bearcats slipped to 0-4 on the year, including 0-2 in the NWC.

The Bruins captured all six singles flights in straight sets. Quentin Nigbur (Jr., Newberg, OR/Newberg) and Andrew Kropp (Jr., Bend, OR/Summit HS) played at first and second singles, respectively, and battled together in an 8-2 setback in the top doubles flight. 

Willamette returns to action next weekend, traveling to Linfield University on Saturday, March 20 before hosting Lewis and Clark College on Sunday, March 21. Both matches are set to begin at 11 a.m. (PDT).
