Blues Defeat Bearcats in NWC Men's Tennis Match at Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Whitman College defeated Willamette University in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match 9-0 on Saturday, April 16 at the Bratton Indoor Tennis Courts. Whitman advanced its record to 7-11 overall and to 6-1 in the NWC. Willamette concluded its season at 0-10 overall, 0-8 in the NWC.

The Blues won all three doubles matches. At #1 doubles, John Carter and Noah Baker downed Andrew Kropp (Jr., Bend, OR/Summit HS) and Quentin Nigbur (Jr., Newberg, OR/Newberg HS) of Willamette, 8-2. In the #2 doubles match, Kai Strawn and Jack Freer of Whitman moved past WU's team of Andre Lief (Fy., Anchorage, AK/West Anchorage HS) and Douglas Ii, 8-2. The Blues won #3 doubles by default.

Whitman won #1 singles through #5 singles in straight sets. The winners were Strawn at #1, Baker at #2, Freer at #3, Jasraj Sethi at #4, and Carter at #5. Whitman was credited with a win at #6 singles by default.
