Salem, Ore. - Willamette Men's Tennis fought hard at home against Whitworth but ultimately lost the match to the Pirates by a score of 7-0. Looking to win the doubles point to open the match, the Bearcats played tight matches at #1 and #2 Doubles, eventually dropping each 6-3. The doubles team of AJ Avansino and Hudson Snyder continued to battle as they entered singles but came up just short at #1 Singles for Avansino and #2 Singles for Snyder.
Battling some early season injuries and sickness, Willamette played a different line-up than previous matches, but the change was not able to produce different results. The loss dropped the Bearcats to 0-5 in Northwest Conference Play. The team is off next weekend and returns to action at George Fox University on Saturday, March 8th, and returns home to play Linfield University on Sunday, March 9th at 11:00 am.
