
Walla Walla, Wash. – The Willamette Bearcats men's tennis team suffered a tough 7-0 defeat at the hands of the Whitman Blues on Saturday in Walla Walla. The match saw the Bearcats struggle to find their footing against a Whitman squad that swept both doubles and singles matches.
The Bearcats fought hard in several points, but the Blues won all three doubles matches,to earn the doubles ponint with Zack Olander and Hudson Snyder at #1 and Baily Livengood and Luca Casano at #2 both losing their sets 6-2.
The Bearcats played some solid points and games in singles but were unable to secure a single set victory. AJ Avansino, facing Cameron Yang at number one singles, put up a fight but ultimately fell 6-2, 6-1. Similar scores were seen across the board, with several matches ending in decisive 6-0, 6-0 sweeps for the Blues.
Willamette now travels to Spokane, Washington, for a match against Whitworth University on Sunday, March 30th.
