
Spokane, Wash. - The Willamette Bearcats men's tennis team suffered a tough 7-0 defeat at the hands of the Whitworth Pirates. The Pirates controlled the match from the start, sweeping all three doubles matches. Zack Olander and Hudson Snyder put up a fight in the number one doubles slot but ultimately fell 6-2 to Whitworth's Morrison/Ashley.
The singles matches followed a similar pattern. AJ Avansino battled in his singles match against Matthew Morrison, but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-2. Hudson Snyder faced a similarly challenging opponent in Henry Preacher, losing 6-1, 6-0. Zack Olander showed resilience in his match against Ryan Ashley, taking a set to 7-5 before ultimately dropping the second 6-0. The remaining singles matches saw Baily Livengood, Andre Lief, and Jake Freeland also falling to their Whitworth opponents.
Men's Tennis returns to action on Saturday, April 5th, when they travel to Pacific University to play two matches. The first match will start at 10:00 am.
