Freeland and Snyder Drop Close Matches as Bearcats Fall in Dual Match to GFU

Salem, Ore. - The Willamette University Men's Tennis team suffered a tough 7-0 defeat at the hands of the George Fox Bruins Saturday. The Bearcats played some close matches but were not able to come away with any match wins in the contest.

In Doubles, Zack Olander and Hudson Snyder put up a valiant fight in the number one doubles match, ultimately falling 7-5 to Lars Schmassmann and Keita Shoji, while Luca Casano and Baily Livengood faced a 6-0 defeat, while AJ Avansino and Andre Lief lost 6-1.

The singles matches followed a similar pattern. Again, the Bearcats played some strong matches, but ultimately George Fox won at each position. Jake Freeland lost the opening set 6-1 at #6 Singles but battled in the second set before losing 6-4.  Hudson Snyder started strong is his opening set at #2 Singles before falling 6-3, 6-1 to Zach Moore.

The Men's Tennis team will play its final match of the season on Sunday, April 13th, when they travel to McMinnville to take on Linfield University.
