Willamette Track & Field student-athlete Steeley Mucken was named NWC Field Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Javelin this past weekend.

Mucken set a Willamette school record in the Javelin on Saturday, April 5th, with a throw of 65.50m at the Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational hosted by Linfield University.  Jordan Loos had set the previous record of 65.41 in 2014 and Mucken beat that throw by approximately 3 ½ inches.  Mucken's throw is the fourth best in NCAA Division III so far this year and leads the Northwest Conference.
