Chew and Hennum lead the way for Men’s Cross Country at Willamette Invitational

Salem, OR - Men's Cross Country hosted the annual Charles Bowles Cross Country Invitational and ran to a 13th-place overall finish, leading the way among the five NCAA Division III teams at the event.  

Jay Chew led the way for the Bearcats with a time of 25:40.0 over the 8-kilometer course.  Chew finished in 65th place overall out of 278 total runners.  Teammate William Hennum was next for the Bearcats at 25:57.3, followed by Adam Lewis at 26:39.5.  Rounding out the top five finishers for Willamette who scored in the event were Sage Soto at 27:00.6 and Joshua Evans who crossed the finish line at 27:17.5.

Other runners for Willamette on the day were Liam Bergevin (27:25.3) and Julien Trobaugh (28:32.4).

The next race for the cross country team will be Saturday, October 19th, at the George Oja Invitational hosted by Linfield College at the Oak Knoll Golf Course in Independence, Oregon.
