Outfielder and Pitcher Glasgo Named First Team All-NWC as Utility Player

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University outfielder and pitcher Jocelyn Glasgo (So., Rochester, WA/Tumwater HS) has been selected First Team All-Northwest Conference for the 2018 season as selected by the NWC head coaches. Glasgo was one of 14 athletes named to the First Team. Another 14 players were chosen for the Second Team, and 13 players received Honorable Mention.

Overall, 41 athletes were included on the 2018 All-Northwest Conference Softball Team. Linfield College outfielder Melanie Oord was chosen NWC Player of the Year. Madison Sorensen from George Fox University was named NWC Pitcher of the Year. Utility player Kennedy Robillard of Pacific Lutheran University was selected as NWC Freshman of the Year. Head Coach Jessica Hollen of George Fox was chosen NWC Coach of the Year.

"She's the perfect person you want on your team," Willamette Head Coach Damian Williams said. "She's always giving it her best. She doesn't have an 'off' switch. She's always 'on.' She's mentally tough and mentally strong and highly competitive."

Glasgo was named First Team All-NWC as an at-large selection/utility player. She competed in 33 games, including 19 appearances and 15 starts as a pitcher.

First Team All-Northwest Conference

Jocelyn Glasgo (So., P/OF, Rochester, WA/Tumwater HS) Jocelyn Glasgo (So., RHP/OF) was chosen First Team All-NWC for the first time, after receiving Second Team All-NWC honors as a utility player in 2017. This year, Glasgo led the Bearcats with a .391 batting average, 34 hits, five doubles, five triples and 20 RBIs. Her five triples ranked her seventh in NCAA Division III.

She also ranked first for Willamette with a .632 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage. In addition, she tied for the team lead with two home runs. She was successful on 12 of 13 stolen bases, walked 13 times and and was hit by a pitch six times. While pitching this season, she recorded 46 strikeouts in 87 1/3 innings.

As a freshman in 2017, Glasgo finished second on the team with a .380 batting average, while playing in 21 games with 17 starts. She recorded 11 RBIs, scored eight times, and was 6 for 6 on stolen bases. She made 19 appearances in the circle as a relief pitcher and finished the year with a 3-2 record. She tied for 17th in NCAA Division III with three saves. She struck out 25 batters in 24 innings, while allowing only five walks.

During two seasons with the Bearcats, Glasgo has registered a .387 career batting average, a .606 career slugging percentage, and a career .478 on-base percentage. She has contributed 53 hits, 31 RBIs, eight doubles, five triples and four home runs. She is 18 of 19 on stolen bases. She has pitched in 38 games with 15 starts, and has struck out 71 batters in 111 1/3 innings.
