
Willamette Softball player Kenna Davis was named NWC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week for her pitching performance in last weekend's series at the University of Puget Sound.
Davis pitched a total of 17 ⅓ innings over the weekend and struck out 24 batters as she split a pair of starts versus Puget Sound. In the opening game, Davis pitched 10 ⅓ innings, giving up just seven hits and two runs. She struck out 14 Loggers in the extra-inning game before giving up the winning run on a double with one out in the eleventh inning. On Saturday, Davis pitched another complete game, this time striking out 10 batters through seven innings to earn the win. She gave up only four hits and walked two.
This is the second time Davis has received this honor this season and the third time in her career.
