Four Willamette Women's Swimmers Earn Academic All-District Recognition

SALEM, Ore. -- Four members of the Willamette University women's swimming team have been chosen for the 2022-23 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Women's Swimming Team, as determined by the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA). Willamette's selections were Jordan Edner (Sr., Colorado Springs, CO/Doherty HS), Gwyn Fritz (Jr., Los Gatos, CA/Leigh HS), Tatum Good (So., Scottsdale, AZ/Scottsdale Prep Academy), and Jacqueline Hall (So., Bainbridge Island, WA/Bainbridge HS).

All of the Academic All-District selections are eligible to be chosen for the College Sports Communicators NCAA Division III Academic All-America Team. Players nominated for the CSC All-District Team were starters or key reserves with cumulative grade point averages of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Each nominated student-athlete was at their current college or university for at least one academic year.

The Willamette women's swimming team placed sixth at the 2023 Northwest Conference Swimming Championships. Good received Second Team All-NWC honors in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke. Edner, Fritz, and Good also competed at this year's NWC Championships.

NCAA Division III Academic All-District

Headshot of Jordan Edner Jordan Edner (Sr.) registered career-best times at Willamette of 1:14.93 in the 100-yard individual medley and 2:34.48 in the 200-yard individual medley. She earned a career top time of 5:53.52 in the 500-yard freestyle. Other best times for Edner include 12:13.06 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 20:21.99 in the 1,650-yard freestyle. She is double majoring in Politics, Policy, Law and Ethics along with Environmental Science. Edner has achieved a 3.88 cumulative GPA.

 

Headshot of Gwyn Fritz Gwyn Fritz (Sr.) placed 11th overall and was in the consolation final of the 200-yard freestyle at the 2023 NWC Championships in a personal record time of 1:59.90. She took 15th place in the 200-yard freestyle at the 2022 NWC Championships with a time of 2:02.48. Career-best times for Fritz include 1:11.70 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2:40.36 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Additional top times for Fritz are 25.36 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and 56.38 in the 100-yard freestyle.

 

Headshot of Tatum Good Tatum Good (So.) finished in fifth place in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.08 at the 2023 NWC Championships and placed seventh in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:13.05. Also at the 2023 NWC Meet, she placed ninth overall and won the consolation final in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:14.40. During the 2022 NWC Meet, she was sixth in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:10.90 and seventh in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:14.19. She placed ninth overall while winning the consolation final in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2022 NWC Meet in 1:00.22. Good holds a 3.62 cumulative GPA and has not declared a major.

 

Headshot of Jacqueline Hall Jacqueline Hall (So.) placed 14th overall and was fifth in the consolation final of the 200-yard individual medley in 2:17.85 during the 2023 NWC Championships. She set a personal-best in the 200 I.M. with her time at the NWC Meet. Hall owns a career best of 1:10.66 in the 100-yard individual medley. Her top time in the 100-yard backstroke is 1:05.22 and her best time in the 200-yard backstroke is 2:21.18. Hall is majoring in Environmental Science at Willamette. She has earned a 3.92 cumulative GPA.
