Willamette to Compete at NWC Tournament in Women's Golf

SALEM, Ore. -- The Willamette University women's golf team will compete at the Northwest Conference Tournament this weekend on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24 at Creekside Golf Club in Salem. Willamette is hosting the tournament. The NWC Tournament is the last of three tournaments used to determine the NWC Championship.

The first two tournaments -- the NWC Fall Classic and the NWC Spring Classic -- were each worth one-fourth of the title. The NWC Tournament is worth one-half of the title. George Fox University is currently in first place after winning both the Fall Classic and the Spring Classic. Whitworth University is second overall, with Pacific Lutheran University is currently in third.

Participating in the NWC Tournament for the Bearcats will be Meghan Hook (Sr., Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead HS), Alexis Schwartz (Grad., Ontario, OR/Ontario HS), and Kiki Fierstos (Sr., Redmond, OR/Redmond HS). Tee times at the 1st hole on Saturday will be Hook at 10:40 a.m. (PDT), Schwartz at 10:50 a.m., and Fierstos at 11 a.m.
