Austin is the NWC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University first-year goalkeeper Olivia Austin (San Diego, CA/La Jolla HS) has been named the Northwest Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts in Willamette's 18-11 win at Linfield University on Tuesday, March 19. It is the second time that Austin has been chosen for the weekly award. She also was chosen NWC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week on March 4 after helping the Bearcats defeat Lewis & Clark College 20-2 in a non-conference game.

In Willamette's win at Linfield, Austin earned 11 saves and recorded one caused turnover. Austin has registered 33 saves in Willamette's first six games of the season, while contributing a 9.06 goals against average.

The Bearcats are 4-2 overall and own a 3-1 record in the NWC. Willamette will take on Occidental College on Wednesday, March 27 in Los Angeles, California. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. PDT.
