SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University junior attacker Lily Bachiochi (Henderson, NV/Coronado HS) has been named Second Team All-West Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the 2024 season. The All-West Region Team included 32 players with 16 players on the First Team and 16 players on the Second Team.
Bachiochi is the second Willamette student-athlete to earn All-West Region honors in women's lacrosse. She followed midfielder Maddie Garcia ('23) who was named Second Team All-West Region in 2021.
Willamette ended the season at 14-4 to set a school record for wins in a season. The Bearcats took second place in the NWC at 10-2. In the NWC Tournament, Willamette outscored Whitworth University, 17-12, in the semifinals, and fell to George Fox University, 17-7, in the NWC Tournament Championship game. Throughout the season, the Bearcats averaged 16.3 goals per game and earned an 8.89 goals against average on defense. WU scored 18 or more goals 10 times, including 20 or more goals six times.
Second Team All-West Region
Lily Bachiochi (Jr., ATT) was chosen Second Team All-West Region for the first time. Earlier this spring, Bachiochi was named First Team All-Northwest Conference for the third consecutive season and was selected NWC Offensive Player of the Year. She led Willamette with a career-high 65 goals while setting school records with 52 assists and 117 points.
Bachiochi was named NWC Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week four times in 2024, on March 25, April 1, April 9, and April 22. She took 117 total shots during the season and placed 90 shots on target. In addition to her offensive success, Bachiochi registered 28 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers. She scored a school record 12 points with seven goals and five assists in an 18-11 win at Linfield University on March 19, 2024. She contributed four or more goals in 11 games this season.
During her three years at Willamette, Bachiochi has set school career records with 149 goals, 131 assists, and 280 points. She has accumulated 285 total shots and 218 shots on goal. Her career statistics include 88 ground balls, plus 27 caused turnovers and 18 draw controls. She has led the Bearcats in assists and points all three years, while starting all 53 games.
