
Tacoma, Wash. - Willamette Lacrosse improved their conference record to 2-0 with a dismantling of Pacific Luthern on Saturday, downing the Lutes 21-1. Claire Kisielnicki tied the record she had set earlier in the year for points in a game with 11, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. Earlier this week it had also been tied by teammate Lily Bachiochi, who scored five goals and dished out six assists in a win over Lewis & Clark.
Kisielnicki got the scoring started less than a minute into the match to put the Bearcats up 1-0. Shea Richardson-Pepper scored the next two goals for Willamette before Kisielnicki scored two more to put Willamette up 5-0 with just over five minutes left in the quarter. Alex Warfel joined the scoring next, followed by Bachiochi, and at the end of the opening fifteen minutes the Bearcats were ahead 9-0.
Warfel opened the scoring in the second to make the score 10-0 and three more goals by Kisielnicki and one from Bachiochi put Willamette ahead 14-0 at the halftime break. The Bearcats continued their run in the third quarter, this time scoring three goals to make the score 17-0 after three quarters of play.
The Lutes were able to finally break through in the final quarter as Issabella Marchio got a goal to make the score 20-1, and Sydney Davis closed out the scoring for WIllamette to make the final score 21-1 in favor of the Bearcats.
In addition to Kisielnicki's eight goals, Bachiochi tallied five, Warfel scored four, and Richardson-Pepper added three. Jay Shiflett led the Bearcats with six ground balls, followed by Davis and Warfel with four each. Shiflett also led Willamette in caused turnovers with four. Addie Martin played the final three quarters in goal for Willamette and made two saves.
The Bearcats conclude their trip to Tacoma with a match against the University of Puget Sound at 1:00 pm on Sunday, April 6th.
