Bachiochi and Shiflett Named Players of the Year, Six Bearcats All-NWC

Lily Bachiochi was named the NWC Offensive Player of the Year and Jay Shiflett earned NWC Defensive Player of the Year honors to lead the first-team members of the all-conference team.  Claire Kisielnicki joined Bachiochi and Shiflett on the first team, and Shea Richardson-Pepper, Syd Shoemaker, and Alex Warfel each received second-team honors.

This was the second consecutive year Bachiochi was named Offensive Player of the Year and the fourth consecutive season she was a member of the All-NWC First Team.  The senior captain is Willamette's all-time leader in goals, assists, and total points.  She led the NWC in assists and points in 2025 and was fifth in goals.  She set the school record for goals in a game with ten against Whitworth on April 18th and twice tied her record for points in a game with twelve.

This was Shiflett's second consecutive year on the first team as the sophomore led the Bearcats and the NWC in ground balls and caused turnovers.  In only two seasons, she is already Willamette's all-time leader in turnovers caused and set the school record for caused turnovers in a game with nine against George Fox on April 12th.

Kisielnicki received second-team recognition last season and was a scoring force for the Bearcats this year, leading the team in goals scored (68), and finishing second in assists (15) and points (83).  She was second in the NWC in goals and shots and finished fourth in points.

A first-team selection in 2024, Richardson-Pepper had a well-rounded season for Willamette, finishing second on the team in both ground balls and draw controls, while her 34 goals and 39 points were both good for third-highest on the team.

Shoemaker, who earned first-team honors in 2024, was second on the team in caused turnovers (28) and third in draw controls with 39.

A first-year student, Warfel led the Bearcats in draw controls with 72, which placed her seventh overall in the Northwest Conference.  She was fourth on the team in ground balls (37), goals (31), and points (36).
