Rowan Helps Summer Team Reach Regional Quarterfinals

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University women's soccer player Andrea Rowan (MF, Boise, ID/Timberline HS), who will be sophomore in 2010-11, helped her summer club team reach the quarterfinals of the Unites States Region IV Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M. Rowan plays for Les Bois of Idaho.

Rowan scored three goals and earned one assist during the four games played by Les Bois during the regional. She helped her team earn victories against squads from Nevada and Utah. Les Bois was defeated in the quarterfinals by the host team from New Mexico.

Willamette will begin the 2010 season on Wednesday, Sept. 1, when the Bearcats host cross-town rival Corban College. Game time at Sparks Field in set for 5 p.m. (PDT).

The game starts a doubleheader that also includes a match between the WU men's teams and Corban. The men's game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. (PDT).

Andrea Rowan scored 3 goals and 2 assists as a freshman for the Bearcats last season.
