Skelly Chosen NWC Women's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week

Contributes Three Goals and an Assist, as Bearcats Defeat Lutes and Loggers

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior midfielder Stephanie Skelly (Poulsbo, WA/North Kitsap HS) has been selected as the Northwest Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the week for her success in games on Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23. She has received the award a total of three times this season.

Skelly provided three goals and an assist for Willamette during the week. She scored a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over Pacific Lutheran on Saturday and earned two goals in a 2-1 victory over the University of Puget Sound on Sunday.

Against PLU, she registered an assist on the Bearcats' first goal as WU tied the game 1-1 in the first half. Later she scored Willamette's fourth goal against the Lutes.

In the win over Puget Sound, Skelly scored at 57:01 to tied the game and produced the winning goal with 21 seconds left in regulation. She has now scored two goals in five of Willamette's last nine games.

In the games against PLU and UPS, she took a total of 10 shots and placed eight of the shots on goal. Her three goals during the week increased her career total to 32 goals. She also has achieved four career assists for 68 total points.

Willamette will travel to Newberg, Ore., on Saturday, Oct. 29 to take one George Fox University. Game time is set for 12 p.m. (PDT).

Stephanie Skelly scored three goals during the week, including the game-winning goal against Puget Sound.
