Earns Shutouts in a Win over Lewis & Clark and a Tie with #20 Linfield

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University goalkeeper Emily Sewall (Fr., Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande HS) has been selected as the Northwest Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts in two games during the week ending Oct. 20.

Sewall played all 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Lewis & Clark on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Three days later, she played all 110 minutes as the Bearcats earned a 0-0 tie in two overtimes against #20-ranked Linfield College on Saturday, Oct. 19.

She achieved a 0.00 goals against average and made 15 saves during the week. She recorded six saves against Lewis & Clark and achieved nine saves against Linfield.

Sewall has started a total of three games over the past two weeks. She owns a 0.00 goals against average with no goals allowed in 310 minutes. She has made a total of 19 saves and has a 1-0-2 record in goal.

The Bearcats ended the most recent week with a 1-0 win in two overtimes against George Fox University on Sunday, Oct. 20. Senior goalkeeper Nicole Price (Auburn, WA/Thomas Jefferson HS) played in goal for WU against the Bruins.

Willamette is 4-9-2 overall and 2-7-2 in the Northwest Conference. WU has gone 2-0-2 in its last four games without allowing a goal. The overall shutout streak is 482 minutes and 52 seconds.

The next game for the Bearcats is on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the University of Puget Sound. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. (PDT) in Tacoma, Wash.
