Barclay Earns NWC Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week on Two Shutouts

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University goalkeeper Kristen Barclay (Fr., GK, Kenmore, WA/Cedar Park Christian School) has been named Northwest Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts against Linfield College and Pacific University on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16.

Barclay recorded two shutouts and played 200 minutes in goal, as Willamette picked up a 0-0 tie in two overtimes against Linfield and a 1-0 win at Pacific in regulation. Barclay earned four saves against Linfield and two saves against Pacific. She had a 0.00 goals against average for the week.

The freshman goalie is now 4-2-1 on the season with a 0.68 goals against average. She has contributed 29 saves for the Bearcats.

Willamette will play two home games this weekend. The Bearcats will host Whitman College at Sparks Field on Saturday, Oct. 22. Game time is set for 12 p.m. (PDT). Willamette will take on Whitworth University on Sunday, Oct. 23, with another kickoff at 12 p.m.

The Bearcats are 6-6-2 on the season and 3-5-2 in the NWC. Willamette has allowed just one goal in its last four games, while earning a 2-1-1 record.
