Redlands, CA - A non-conference match-up between Willamette University and the University of Redlands saw the game end in a 2-2 tie with all four goals coming in a span of 15 minutes.
The Bearcats opened the scoring in the 42nd minute when first-year Amanda Mcarthur scored off the assist from Ella Abraham. Willamette outshot the Bulldogs 8-5 in the first half and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The second half saw Redlands take the lead back on goals just over a minute apart, the first at 52:06 and the second at 53:45. To complete the scoring flurry, Willamette tied it up less than a minute later on a goal by Nina Krassner-Cybulski at 54:38. That would complete the scoring for the match.
The Bearcats (10) had fewer overall shots than the Bulldogs (15) but did put more on target, 7-6. Claire Warthen led Willamette in shots with three, followed by Natalie Rodriguez-De La Torre with two. Sam Borngasser had four saves in goal for the Bearcats.
Willamette's next match is at home on Sunday, September 8th, at 11:00 a.m. vs. Caltech.
