Doty and Krassner-Cybulski Named First Team All-NWC

Doty and Krassner-Cybulski Named First Team All-NWC

Four Willamette Women's Soccer players earned all-Northwest Conference honors for their performances during the 2024 season.  Reagan Doty and Nina Krassner-Cybulski were named to the first team and Sam Borngasser and Claire Warthen were named honorable mention.

Krassner-Cybulski led Willamette in goals on the season with 11, including a stretch of seven consecutive matches scoring a goal and four straight game-winning goals.  During conference play she led the NWC in goals scored (10), was second in game-winning goals (4), and was second in overall points (21).  Krassner-Cybulski also received all-conference honors after the 2022 season, when she was named honorable mention.

Doty was named all-conference for the second year in a row after receiving honorable mention honors in 2023.  Doty's lone goal was scored early in the season against Caltech.  Though not represented among the conference statistical leaders, the conference coaches' respect for Doty's ability to control and manage the game from her midfield position led to her earning first-team honors.

Borngasser started all twenty matches in goal for Willamette this season and registered eight shutouts.  Those shutouts ranked her second among all Northwest Conference goalkeepers, both in conference play and for the full season.  She faced 94 shots for the year, including 76 in conference play, which also ranked second in the NWC.  Twice this season Borngasser was recognized as NWC Women's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

Warthen led Willamette in shots from her midfield spot and was second on the team in shots on goal with 19.  In conference play, she ranked fourth in shots per contest (2.38) and ninth in shots on goal per contest (1.00).  Warthen had assists in back-to-back games during the early part of the conference season and scored a goal at home against the University of Puget Sound on October 19th.
