Kisiday Places 2nd in 100 and 200-Yard Freestyle as Bearcats Race Whitworth

Spokane, Wash. - Women's Swimming traveled to Washington for their first away dual meet of the conference season and fell to Whitworth 158-47.  Several Bearcats had strong swims for the early part of the season.

Alayna Kisiday led the way in points for Willamette by taking second in both the 100-yard and 200-yard Freestyle races and anchoring the team's second-place finish in the 200-yard Medley Relay.  Other members of that relay team were Leah Howell, Anna Hornbeck, and Lydia Schmitt.

In addition to the relay finish, Howell placed second in the 100-yard Backstroke in a time of 1:03.85, just ahead of teammate Tatum Good who took third.  Hornbeck placed third in the 100-yard Breastroke, leading a trio of Bearcats that included Tessa Ciatti and Sarah Jenner.

Ciatti took second place in the 400-yard Individual Medley and Jenner took 5th in that same event and was third in the 1650 Freestyle.

Other top finishers for Willamette were Mia Sperbeck in the 50-yard Free, Lydia Schmitt in the 100-yard Fly, and Emma Noffsinger in the 500-yard Freestyle.

Willamette stays in Washington for their next meet when they travel to swim against Whitman College on Saturday, November 16th.  The first event is scheduled for 10:00 am.
