Lewis-Clark State Defeats Willamette, 9-0

BOISE, Idaho -- Willamette University was defeated by Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho), 9-0, in a women's tennis match on Saturday, March 19 on the campus of Boise State University. LCSC improved its record to 4-11, while Willamette fell to 0-9.

LCSC competes in the NAIA and is a member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Willamette participates in NCAA Division III and the Northwest Conference.

The Warriors recorded the first point of the match when Hannah Uhlenkott and Jen Roux downed Hannah Andres (Fr., Sammamish, WA/Skyline HS) and Rachel Kong (Fr., Hayward, CA/Castro Valley HS) of Willamette at #2 doubles, 8-2.

At #3 doubles, Deanri Human and Stephanie Buckingham of LCSC defeated Katie Adams (So., McLean, VA/American International School) and Allie DiPasquale (Fr., Seattle, WA/Seattle Academy), 8-2. The LCSC team of Lauren Lang and Kianna Arthur outscored Mikaila Smith (So., Mill Valley, CA/Tamalpais HS) and Alexis Gjurasic (Fr., Olympia, WA/Capital HS) at #1 doubles, 8-3.

The #1 singles match was won by Lang for Smith, 6-0, 6-2. At #2 singles, Uhlenkott moved past Andres, 6-2, 6-2. The #3 singles match went to Human, who downed Gjurasic, 6-1, 6-1. Other winners for LCSC were Roux at #4 singles, Arthur at #5 singles and Anna Rodriguez at #6 singles.

Willamette will play College of Idaho on Sunday, March 20. The match is set to begin at 8 a.m. (MDT)/7 a.m. (PST) at River City Racquet Club in Nampa, Idaho.
