FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- The Willamette University Beacats closed out the 2015-16 women's tennis season with a loss to the Pacific University Boxers, 9-0, on Sunday, April 17 at the Holce Tennis Complex.

Pacific upped its record to 7-10 on the season, 5-7 in the Northwest Conference. Willamette ended the year at 0-15 overall, 0-12 in the NWC.

The Boxers received quick wins in the top two doubles matches. Kaitlyn Lomartine and Danielle du Plooy won 8-1 at #1 doubles against Mikaila Smith (So., Mill Valley, CA/Tamalpais HS) and Alexis Gjurasic (Fr., Olympia, WA/Capital HS).

At #2 doubles, the Pacific team of Mai Kobayashi and Marissa Hayashi downed Allie DiPasquale (Fr., Seattle, WA/Seattle Academy) and Katie Adams (So., McLean, VA/American International School), 8-1.

In the #3 doubles match, Carliee Rhodaback and Danielle Wicks from Pacific outscored Rachel Kong (Fr., Hayward, CA/Castro Valley HS) and Noemi Cruz-Cruz (So., Galt, CA/Liberty Ranch HS) of Willamette, 8-4.

Adams was unable to compete in singles for the Beacats, so Pacific took #3 singles by deafult. The Boxers won four other singles matches in straight sets, but Rhodaback needed a super tie-breaker played instead of a third set in order to defeat DiPasquale.

Rhodaback prevailed in the first set, 6-4, before DiPasquale won the second set, 6-3. Rhodaback claimed the super tie-breaker by a 10-4 score.
