Salem, OR – The Willamette University Women's Tennis team played their final match of the season and celebrated Senior Day for Ruby Thompson and Richelle Suzuki with a 5-2 win over Linfield University.  Thompons and Suzuki won all their matches on the day, Thompson winning at #1 Doubles and #6 Singles and Suzuki coming out on top at #2 Doubles and #3 Singles.

The match began with a commanding performance in doubles, with all three Willamette pairs securing victories. Alexa de Crinis and Ruby Thompson took down their opponents 6-2, as did Richelle Suzuki and Eva Lief. Gio Horner and Sofia Spencer completed the sweep with a dominant 6-0 win, earning the Bearcats the doubles point.  

Sofia Spencer and Eva Lief both secured 6-0, 6-0 victories to put Willamette ahead in the match 3-0, and Thompson provided the clinching point to give the Bearcats the team victory by defeating Elise Reese 6-1, 6-0.  Suzuki provided the final Willamette point for the day by winning her match 6-0, 6-2 over Emily Redwood.

This is the final match of the season for Women's Tennis, who finishes the season with an overall and conference record of 3-11.  The Bearcats also won exhibition matches earlier this season against Bellevue College and Highline College, but those matches do not count toward the team's final record.
