
Newberg, Ore. - Ella Thompson finished fifth and Erica Snyder sixth in the Heptathlon at the Northwest Conference Multi-Championships hosted by George Fox University. Thompson's 4,191 points places her at #7 on Willamette's all-time list for the event and the 4,057 points by Snyder has her at #9 on the same list.
Thompson had four personal bests during the two-day event, running a best time in the 800 meter run, top distances in the Javelin and Shot Put, and best height in the High Jump. Thompson's top places were second-place finishes in both the High Jump and Long Jump. She placed fifth in both the 100-meter Hurdles and the 200-meter run.
Snyder had personal bests in the High Jump, the 200 and 800-meter runs, and a season best in the Shot Put during the event. She won the High Jump at a height of 1.63m and finished fourth in the Javelin and sixth in the Shot Put.
The next meet for Track & Field is the Northwest Conference Championships on Saturday, April 26th, and Sunday, April 27th. The two-day event will be hosted by Lewis & Clark College.
