SALEM, Ore. -- The Willamette University women's triathlon program was honored as a College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) Scholar All-America Team for the fall 2021 season. The 2021-22 academic year marked the inaugural season for triathlon at Willamette.

First-year Ella Isaacson (Saint Paul, MN/Central HS) was named an individual Scholar All-American while classmate Veronica Castille (Round Rock, TX/Cedar Ridge HS) received individual recognition as an Honorable Mention Scholar All-American. Isaacson had an outstanding rookie season at Willamette, receiving Honorable Mention All-America honors and placing in the top 20 at the Women's Collegiate Triathlon Championships. Castille placed 23rd overall in the individual standings.

The College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) released its list of Scholar All-Americans, recognizing women's varsity student-athletes and teams that excelled both in the classroom and on the race course during the 2021-2022 season.

Collegiate varsity teams were recognized for academic performance based on a collective overall GPA of 3.2 or higher for the complete team roster. A total of 33 teams earned the honor across all Division I, Division II and Division III varsity women's collegiate triathlon programs.

At the individual level, 102 varsity student-athletes earned the Scholar All-American honor. These were awarded to athletes who competed in the 2021 Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships (all divisions) and maintained a GPA of 3.5 or better.
