Mt. Shasta City, CA - Willamette Women's Triathlon competed in their race of the season at the Mt. Shasta Tinman Triathlon.  The Bearcats were one of five schools competing in the Collegiate Cup portion of the all-day event.  The other schools in attendance were Arizona State University, Cal Poly Humboldt, Central College (IA), and the University of San Francisco.

Willamette was led by first-year Sofie Szigeti who finished 15th overall and completed the course in 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 6 seconds.  The next Bearcats to finish were Abbey Staniec (26th) at 1:15:20 and Natalie Thomas (27th) at 1:16:44, followed by Charlotte Andrews (30th) and Katie Clemens (31st) at 1:17:24 and 1:18:39, respectively.

Other Willamette finishers were Maya Ryley (1:19:37), Kalima Glascott (1:25:33), Alessandra Armenta-Lopez (1:29:09), and Sonora Sandoval (1:30:03).  

The next race for the Bearcats will be the Santa Cruz Triathlon in Santa Cruz, CA, on Sunday, September 22nd.
