Glascott and Isaacson lead Triathlon at the West Region National Qualifier

Springfield, MO - First-year Kalima Glascott and senior Ella Isaacson led the way for Women's Triathlon as they competed in the West Region National Qualifier.  Glascott finished with a time of 1:20:17, which was good for 79th place, while Isaacson came in at 1:21:02 and in 85th place overall among competitors across all three NCAA divisions.

In the opening heat, Abbey Staniec was the first out of the water for the Bearcats, followed closely behind by Glascott and Natalie Thomas.  Glascott was the fastest on the bike covering the distances in 39:01, with Isaacson and Thomas next at 40:41.  Katie Clemens turned in the fastest run time for Willamette at 23:44. First-year Poppy Link was quick out of the water, but was passed on the bike course leading to disqualification.  Sofie Szigeti was the only Willamette performer in the second heat, made up mostly of NCAA Division I and Division II student-athletes.  Szigeti had the overall fastest time in the swim for the Bearcats with a time of 11:29.

The next race for Women's Triathlon will be the Women's Collegiate Championships at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Florida, on Saturday, November 9th.
