Klotz Earns NWC Volleyball Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University senior outside hitter Natalie Klotz (Jr., OH, Bonner Springs, KS/Bonner Springs HS) has been chosen as the Northwest Conference Volleyball Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for games played by the Bearcats between Sept. 1 and Sept. 4. Klotz helped the Bearcats go 3-2 during the week, with wins over LaGrange College (Ga.), Covenant College (Ga.), and Brevard College (N.C.). WU lost a five-set non-conference match to Lewis & Clark College and fell to #4-ranked Emory University.

For the week, Klotz led the Bearcats with 73 kills, 3.84 kills per set, and a .226 hitting percentage. She earned 19 kills against Lewis & Clark, contributed 17 kills against both LaGrange and Covenant, and was credited with 12 kills versus Emory. She registered eight kills in Willamette's quick 3-0 win over Brevard.

Klotz has provided 695 kills in 62 matches during her career. She has played in 222 sets.

Willamette will take on Illinois College on Saturday, Sept. 11 in a neutral-site match hosted by Lewis & Clark in Portland, Oregon. Action is set to begin at 10 a.m. (PDT).
