Snyder Earns Third Team All-West Region Honors
May 10, 2013SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior catcher Kelli Snyder (Longview, WA/Kelso HS) has been selected Third Team All-West Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). The All-Region selections were divided into three teams with a total of 45 athletes chosen from throughout the region. -
Bearcats Put Five Softball Players on All-Northwest Conference Team

Whitworth Defeats Willamette, 8-7 in 8 innings and 8-6
April 16, 2013SPOKANE, WASH. -- Whitworth University rallied from a 7-4 deficit in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 16 to defeat Willamette University, 8-7 in eight innings. Whitworth then held off Willamette in the second game, building an 8-4 lead that almost disappeared, before the Pirates won the second game, 8-6.

Lutes Slip by Bearcats, 8-6, in First Game on way to Doubleheader Sweep
April 14, 2013PARKLAND, WASH. -- Defending NCAA Division III national champion Pacific Lutheran University scored two runs in the sixth inning to earn an 8-6 win over Willamette University in the first game of a softball doubleheader on Sunday, April 14. In the second game, Lute pitcher Leah Butters held the Bearcats to one hit, as PLU won 10-0 on the run rule in five innings.

Puget Sound Edges WU in Softball Doubleheader, 2-1 and 13-12
April 13, 2013TACOMA, WASH. -- University of Puget Sound pitcher Megan Campbell threw a complete-game three-hitter to win the opener, 2-1, and the Loggers won a high-scoring battle in the second game, 13-12, to take a Northwest Conference doubleheader from visiting Willamette University on Saturday, April 13 at Logger Field.

April 10, 2013McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Freshman pitcher Victoria Bradshaw (Discovery Bay, CA/Liberty HS) threw a complete-game 1-hitter to lead Willamette University to a 2-1 victory over seventh-ranked Linfield College in the second game of Northwest Conference twilight doubleheader on Wednesday, April 10. Linfield won the first game, 8-0, on the run rule in six innings.

Linfield Defeats Bearcats in NWC Doubleheader
April 03, 2013SALEM, ORE -- Linfield College, ranked 8th in the NCAA Division III Poll released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), produced a solid offensive display against Willamette University on Wednesday, April 3, as the Wildcats defeated the Bearcats, 16-5 and 18-3, at the WU Softball Field. Both games ended on the run rule in five innings.

Bearcats Sweep Loggers with Pair of Run-Rule Wins, 12-4 and 8-0
March 30, 2013SALEM, ORE -- Willamette University swept a Northwest Conference doubleheader from visiting University of Puget Sound on Saturday, March 30, by winning both games on the 8-run rule. The Bearcats pounded out 17 hits to take the first game, 12-4 in six innings. In the second game, Willamette extended a 2-0 lead by scoring five times in the fifth inning.

Pacific Lutheran Sweeps Doubleheader from Bearcats
March 29, 2013SALEM, ORE -- Pacific Lutheran University swept a doubleheader from the Willamette University Bearcats on Friday, March 29, as the Lutes won 10-2 and 7-2 at the WU Softball Field. In the first game, PLU blasted four home runs, including two by first baseman Amanda Hall. In the second game, pitcher Kaaren Hatlen threw a two-hitter for the Lutes.

Bearcats Win Consolation Championship in Silver Bracket at Leadoff Classic
March 10, 2013COLUMBUS, GA. -- Willamette University earned victories over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) and Alma College (Mich.) on Sunday, March 10, during the final day of the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic, as the Bearcats won the consolation title of the Silver Bracket. WU rolled past Gustavus Adolphus, 13-4, in the consolation semifinals, before defeating Alma, 5-1, in the consolation championship game.

Pender helped the Bearcats go 3-1 against the Bruins as both teams opened NWC play.

February 17, 2013CLACKAMAS, ORE. -- The Willamette University softball team was in action during the Northwest Cup on Sunday, Feb. 17 at Hood View Park. The Bearcats, who compete in NCAA Division III, dropped games to NAIA teams from the Oregon Institute of Technology and Concordia University. OIT defeated the Bearcats, 9-0, on the run rule in five innings, while Concordia won 8-3.Â

February 16, 2013CLACKAMAS, ORE. -- The Willamette University softball team was in action during the Northwest Cup on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Hood View Park. The Bearcats, who compete in NCAA Division III, dropped games to NAIA teams from the College of Idaho and crosstown rival Corban University. College of Idaho defeated the Bearcats, 3-0, while Corban won 14-3 on the run rule in five innings.

2013 Willamette Softball Season Outlook
February 14, 2013SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University softball team, which will feature a young roster this season, achieved a 21-15 overall record in 2012, including 19-9 in the Northwest Conference (3rd place). Willametteâ??s conference record included a 2-0 road upset of then top-ranked Linfield College on April 14. The Bearcats also qualified for the four-team NWC tournament.
