    WALLA WALLA, WASH. -- Whitman College built a 40-24 halftime lead on its way to an 83-65 victory over visiting Willamette University, in a Northwest Conference game on Saturday, Feb. 12. Whitman improved to 13-10, including 7-7 in the Northwest Conference. Willamette dropped to 3-18 overall, 2-12 in the NWC.
  • Bearcats to Take on Whitworth and Whitman in Women's Basketball

    SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's basketball team will take on Whitworth University on Friday, Feb. 11 in Spokane, Wash., and will face Whitman College on Saturday, Feb. 12 in Walla Walla, Wash., on the Bearcats' final road trip of the season. Game time is set for 6 p.m. (PST) each night.

Whitworth was led by Emily Guthrie, who scored 14 points and made 4 of 8 three-point shots.

    SALEM, ORE. -- Sophie Wilson (So., G, Port Townsend, WA/Port Townsend HS) hit a 33-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer, sending Willamette University to a 58-57 Northwest Conference win over visiting Pacific University on Saturday, Feb. 5. WU improved to 3-16 overall, 2-10 in the NWC, while Pacific dropped to 6-15 on the season, 2-10 in the NWC.
  • Willamette's Foul Trouble Helps Linfield Rally for 65-56 Win

    McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Linfield College rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat Willamette University, 65-56, in a Northwest Conference women's b basketball game at Ted Wilson Gymnasium on Friday, Feb. 4. The Wildcats upped their record to 10-10 overall, 5-76 in the second half. Willamette moved to 2-16 overall, 1-10 in the NWC.
  • Linfield Pulls Away from Bearcats, 95-58

    SALEM, ORE. -- Linfield College shot 52.5% from the field (32 of 61) on its way to a 95-58 victory over Willamette University in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 8 at Cone Field House. Linfield held a 45-26 advantage at halftime and gradually continued its lead in the second half.

    FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- Erica Schultz sank two free throws with 25.2 seconds left to give Pacific University a 67-66 lead, then added four more free throws in the closing seconds, as the Boxers defeated Willamette University, 71-66, in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Friday, Jan. 7.

    EUGENE, ORE. -- Northwest Christian University defeated the Willamette University women's basketball team, 70-45, in a non-conference contest on Monday, Dec. 6. The win evened Northwest Christian's overall record at 4-4. Willamette is now 1-7 overall.
  • Corban Pulls Away in Second Half, Defeats Willamette Women's Basketball, 79-49

    SALEM, ORE. -- Corban University outscored the Willamette University women's basketball team by 25 points in the second half and defeated the Bearcats, 79-49, in non-conference action on Saturday, Dec. 4 at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center on the Corban campus. Willamette trailed by five points at halftime, 30-25, but could not hang on in the second stanza. Corban improved to 3-4 overall. Willamette is now 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the Northwest Conference.
  • Women's Basketball Loses Contest at Puget Sound, 68-45

    Puget Sound shot well in the first half of play. The Loggers scored 15 of the first 17 points in the game to earn a 15-2 lead with 14:41 remaining in the half. UPS led by as many as 20 points before back-to-back baskets by Shayna Glynn (Sr., F, Boise, ID/Walla Walla CC) and Alex Brunt-Pluta (Fr., P, Encinitas, CA/Canyon Crest Academy) cut the lead to 34-17 at halftime.
