Cone Field House

Cone Field House/Gordie James Court is the home of the WU women’s basketball, men’s basketball and volleyball teams. The arena holds 2,500 fans, with plenty of seating on each side of the court. The court was redone and named after former men’s basketball coach Gordie James in 2010.

Gordie James Court

The court at Cone Field House is named after retired Willamette men’s basketball Head Coach Gordie James. In 22 seasons at WU, from 1987-88 until 2008-09, James achieved a 357-230 (.608) record, and directed the Bearcats to the 1992-93 NAIA Division II National Championship. He also earned a 340-129 (.725) record in 22 years at the high school
level, giving him a combined record of 697-359 (.660). The refurbished court was dedicated on Nov. 20, 2010.
