Bio
Beth (Fitzgerald) Rainford won an NCAA Division III national championship in the 800-meter run in 1999. She earned NAIA All-America honors in the 800-meter run in 1997 and 1998.
Rainford is a former Bearcat record holder and is ranked third all-timeat Willamette in the 800-meter run (2:09.48 in 1999). She won theNorthwest Conference 800-meter title in 1997 and 1998 and both the 800-meter and 1,500-meter championships in 1999.
In cross country, Rainford is ranked in WU’s Top 10 at 4,000 meters (2nd, 14:29.0 in 1999) and at 5,000 meters (4th, 17:28.8 in 1999)). In 1999, she earned All-America honors in cross country and was the NWC individual champion.
Rainford lives in McCall, Idaho. She is married to Eddie Rainford, former Willamette football player and a member of the 1997 football teamthat was inducted into the WU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
