Anne Merten Cannon was selected for First Team All-America honors twice in soccer and was named All-Northwest Conference four times. She was named Women’s Soccer Freshman of the Year in 2001 and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team when Willamette played in the Final Four that same year. Merten was named to the Verizon Academic All-District Team as selected by CoSIDA three times. Her career statistics included 53 goals and 30 assists for 136 total points with a career-high 14 goals in 2001 and a career-high 10 assists in 2003. During her four seasons on the team the Bearcats were 69-9-4 (.866). Merten was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and was the Jean Williams Award winner in 2004.
