Sarah Zerzan was a two-time cross country national champion, winning the NCAA Division III individual title in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, she was undefeated throughout the season. With her 25th place finish at the 2005 NCAA DIII Championships, Zerzan was a three-time cross country All-American. She also won NCAA West Region cross country titles in 2005, 2006, and 2007 and NWC cross country titles in 2006 and 2007. Zerzan set Willamette cross country records at 5k (16:49.4) and 6k (20:32.7). In track and field, Zerzan was second at the 2007 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in the 5,000-meter run, earning All-America honors. She won Northwest Conference championships in the 1,500-meter run in 2007 and in the 10,000-meter run in 2008. Zerzan set Willamette track and field records in the 1,500-meter run (4:31.52), the 3,000-meter run (9:39.01), the 5,000-meter run (16:28.54) and the 10,000-meter run (35:20.17). Zerzan was the 2007-08 NCAA Division III Woman of the Year and was an NCAA Today's Top VIII Award recipient. She was the Jean Williams Award winner in 2008. She was named First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America as selected by CoSIDA in 2006-07.
