Joyner Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

SALEM, Ore. - Willamette sophomore right-hander Brady Joyner (So., RHP, Las Vegas, NV/Shadow Ridge HS) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week as a relief pitcher. Joyner turned in a pair of strong outings on opening weekend as the Bearcats started the season 2-2, splitting games with East Texas Baptist University and Centenary College (LA).

Joyner earned the save in Willamette's come-from-behind win over East Texas Baptist on Sat., Feb. 5. He entered the game with a runner on first and no outs in the top of the eighth and pitched the final two innings.

He struck out two batters and allowed no runs, no hits, and two walks. Joyner also pitched 1.1 innings in relief against Centenary on Feb. 6. He struck out out two batters, while giving up one hit, one run, and one walk.

The Bearcats were scheduled to travel to Redlands University for a four-game series with the Bulldogs last weekend, but those games were canceled. They are set to open Northwest Conference play on Sat., Feb. 19, hosting a double-header with George Fox University at 11 a.m. The teams will meet again on Sunday for a single game with the first pitch set for 12 p.m. (PST)
