KGW-TV to Air Story about Hoopsters for Haiti

PORTLAND, ORE. -- A feature about the Hoopsters for Haiti fundraiser is expected to aired by KGW-TV Channel 8 in Portland, Ore., during the local newscast at 6 p.m. (PST) on Thursday, Jan. 21. The Hoopsters for Haiti project will raise money during Willamette's home games against Pacific Lutheran University on Friday, Jan. 22 to help with the earthquake relief effort in Haiti .

Fans will be able to donate money to earthquake relief. A percentage of ticket sales also will be contributed to the relief effort. The Willamette women's team will open the doubleheader by taking on Pacific Lutheran at 6 p.m. (PST). The Bearcat men will battle the Lutes in the second game, starting at about 8 p.m. (PST).

Willamette University men's basketball players Cameron Mitchell (Sr., Post, Portland, OR/Grant HS/U. of Redlands) and Bubba Lemon (Jr., Wing, McMinnville, OR/Tualatin HS/Linfield College), the primary organizers of Hoopsters for Haiti, will be highlighted in Channel 8's report about the fundraiser.
