SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior guard Terrell Malley (Portland, OR/Roosevelt HS), who has excited Bearcats fans by making quick drives to the basket and by swishing 3-point shots for the last four seasons, has been named Honorable Mention All-Northwest Conference for the 2012-13 season. It is the second year in a row that Malley has earned Honorable Mention All-NWC recognition.

Malley led the Bearcats in scoring this season and ranked second in the Northwest Conference with 17.3 points per game. He scored 30 or more points three times, including a career-high 32 points against Pacific University on Jan. 25. He connected on 75.6% of his three throws (93 of 123) and earned 49 assists (2.1 avg.).

He scored 31 points against nationally-ranked Whitworth University in his final game as a Bearcat basketball player on Feb. 16. He earned 30 points and broke a 66-66 tie on a 14-foot jumper with 1:07 remaining in a 68-67 win over Linfield College on Jan. 22.

During his career, Malley produced 1,242 points to finish just 110 points away from Willamette's top 10 scoring list. He is the fifth player since 2006 to score more than 1,000 points for the Bearcats.

"Terrell is one of the most dynamic players I've been around in my 15+ years with Bearcat Hoop," WU Head Coach Kip Ioane said.

Malley played in 94 games in his career, including 66 starts. He averaged 13.2 points per game in his four seasons at WU.

He concluded his career with 148 assists and 205 rebounds. He made 34.5% of his career 3-pointers (138 of 400) and converted 76.1% of his career free throw attempts (270 of 355).

"His ability to create off the bounce, coupled with his range on his jump shot, made him the best pure scorer in our league this season," Ioane said.

Malley, who also plays football for the Bearcats, is majoring in Rhetoric and Media Studies. He was chosen Second Team All-NWC in football this past fall, and has one year of football eligibility remaining.
